Your Basecamp for Outer Cape Adventures
Adventure Bound Cape Cod sits at the tip of the Outer Cape in North Truro, Massachusetts — surrounded by the Cape Cod National Seashore and minutes from some of the most unforgettable experiences on the East Coast. From morning whale watches departing Provincetown to afternoon beach walks along Highland Beach to evening sunsets that light up the Atlantic sky, the Outer Cape offers something for every member of the family. Here are some of the highlights waiting just outside your campsite.
Explore Cape Cod
Whale Watching
Provincetown is just a short drive from our resort and serves as the launch point for some of the best whale watching on the East Coast. From April through October, tour boats head out to Stellwagen Bank where humpback, finback, and minke whales feed in the nutrient-rich waters. Several operators run daily trips, typically lasting three to four hours. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience your family will talk about for years — and you can be back at your campsite in time for dinner and s'mores.
Beaches & Cape Cod National Seashore
Highland Beach is just three minutes from our resort — a wide, uncrowded stretch of Atlantic shoreline within the Cape Cod National Seashore. Head of the Meadow Beach is also nearby, offering calm waters that are great for families with younger children. Race Point Beach in Provincetown is one of the most photographed beaches in New England. The National Seashore encompasses over 40,000 acres of pristine coastline, dunes, marshes, and woodlands, all accessible by hiking trails, bike paths, and scenic drives from your campsite.
Highland Lighthouse
Highland Lighthouse is the oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod, standing 66 feet tall on the bluffs of North Truro — and it's just a two-minute drive from our resort. Open for tours during the summer season, the lighthouse offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Outer Cape coastline. The adjacent Highland House Museum showcases the maritime history of the region. It's an easy afternoon outing that combines history, ocean views, and great photo opportunities.
Provincetown
Less than fifteen minutes from our resort, Provincetown is one of the most vibrant towns on Cape Cod. Walk Commercial Street and explore dozens of art galleries, eclectic shops, and restaurants serving fresh seafood. Climb the Pilgrim Monument for a 360-degree view of the Outer Cape and Cape Cod Bay. Watch the fishing boats come in at MacMillan Pier, catch a show at one of the local theaters, or grab a lobster roll right on the harbor. Provincetown has something for everyone in the family.
Fishing
The Outer Cape is a paradise for anglers. Deep-sea fishing charters depart from Provincetown and Wellfleet targeting striped bass, bluefish, tuna, and more. Prefer to keep your feet on land? Surf casting from the beaches of the National Seashore is a popular pastime, and the tidal flats and harbors offer great spots for shellfishing. Whether you're an experienced angler or taking the kids out for their first cast, Cape Cod fishing is a highlight of any camping trip.

Cape Cod Sunsets
The Outer Cape is one of the rare places on the East Coast where you can watch the sun set over the water. Cape Cod Bay glows gold and orange as the sun dips below the horizon, and the best part is you can enjoy the show right from the beaches near our resort. It's the perfect way to end a day of exploring — grab a camp chair, head to the shore, and take in one of the most spectacular sunsets in New England.
Biking & Hiking
The Province Lands Bike Trail is a paved 5.45-mile loop through the dunes and forests of the National Seashore, with spurs leading to Race Point Beach and Herring Cove Beach. It's one of the most scenic bike rides in Massachusetts. For hiking, the Great Island Trail in Wellfleet offers an 8-mile roundtrip through pine forests and along tidal flats with sweeping views of Cape Cod Bay. Shorter nature trails wind through the dunes and marshlands near our resort.
Kayaking & Paddleboarding
Explore the calm waters of Pamet Harbor, Pilgrim Lake, or the tidal flats on the bay side by kayak or paddleboard. Several rental outfitters operate in Wellfleet and Provincetown, offering hourly and half-day rentals. The protected harbors and coves of the Outer Cape are ideal for beginners and families.
